Twenty first ordered, the World Handball Championship for Women will be held from 06. to 22. December 2013. in Serbia, organized by the Serbian Handball Federation and the International Handball Federation (IHF). After two successful organizations in handball in 2012. Serbian Handball Federation along with cities organizers, set high standards in organization of big events. Positive impressions of guests from all over the world, commit once again all organizer to show that Serbia is in the top for organizing the sport competitions. European Championships in men’s and women’s competition in January and December 2012,. years brought some new planetary records. With 20. 000 fans in “Kombank Arena”, Belgrade was known as the city where the most watched game was played in the history of European championships and ten months later – Serbian capital hosted the most watched game in the history of women’s handball – with 13. 000 spectators at the match Serbia and Montenegro.
This year’s World Handball Championship for Women will be held in the following cities: Belgrade, Nis, Zrenjanin, Novi Sad, Serbia, in accordance with the rules of the International Handball Federation (IHF). Cities – XXI World Cup hosts, along with great sporting tradition and heritage in handball have, in the best way reflects the diversity of our country, the people and their mentality. That is why all the foreign guests who decide to travel to Serbia this winter, will enjoy in professional sport, and all other things our country provides.
It is planned participation of 24 teams, which will be divided into 4 groups, each with six teams.
